The Javan rhinoceros is one of the world's endangered species with an estimated population numbers no more than 60 individuals in the Ujung Kulon National Park (TNUK), and around eight individuals in Cat Tien National Park, Viet Nam (2000). The Javan rhinoceros is the rarest Rhinoceros species among the five existing Rhino species in the world and entered the red list IUCN World Conservation bodies, i.e. in the category of highly endangered or critically endangered.
Rhinos are believed to have existed since the time of tertier (65 million years ago). As well as an extinct Dinosaur, Rhinoceros in 60 million years ago has 30 types of many suffered extinction. Currently only 5 remaining Rhino species, of which 2 species occur in Indonesia.
