Nobel laureate Ahmed Zewail is an Egyptian scientist. He was born in Damanhour, Egypt in 1946. He obtained his B.Sc and M.s from Alexandria University and his Ph.D from the University of Pennsylvania. His fields of specializations are chemistry and physics.
He is a member of the USA Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
His publications include Encyclopedia of Analytical Chemistry, Physical Biology; From Atoms to Medicine, Age of Science, Voyage Through Time, and 4D Visualization of Matter.
He won Nobel prize in Chemistry in 1999 for his work on femtochemistry.
