Dear Bubblews friends
As I told you earlier I was Manager of a bank branch during 1980s and subsequently in 1990s in Chennai.
In 1980s during my latter part of my tenure ALPM machines were introduced and inititally there was a lot of resentment among employees thinking that it will take away employment opportunities and it may reduce their importance. But it came and that only converted later on to computer set up - core branch banking etc
I had a lot of response from the customers for deposit mobilisation and most of the staff members were very good. However book balancing was a big problem and I had to take extra time and attention in getting these things done.
I could help a few entrepreneurs start their business by giving small working capital-- I was not having confidence to give more. Some small scale industries were also assisted by the branch.
On the whole for me tenure in that branch in Chennai was fine except double shift working and allied problems. Double shift was later on converted as single shift and seven days working was made six days working
good day.
