There are 7 main questions when we discuss the RCM
1. What functions and things that can be done by a tool based on standard operating
2. How the tool can fail to carry out its functions?
3.Hal what cause a malfunction?
4. What would happen if a malfunction?
5. How the link between the failure of a device failure affecting other devices?
6. What can be done to predict or prevent the failure?
7. What should be done if the process of prevention and early treatment can not be found?
RCM implementation steps
The steps that need to be taken at the time of going to implement RCM:
1 Identification of essential equipment to be maintained, usually
used method of failure; mode; effect; critacality analysis (FMECA) and fault tree analysis (FTA).
Step 2: Determine the cause of the failure, the goal for
obtain the probability of failure and determine the critical components that are prone to failure. To do this will require a complete data history.
3 Develop FTA analysis activities, such as: determining priority equipment that needs to be maintained.
4 Classify needs maintenance levels.
5. Implementing decisions based on RCM.
