I've been up since 4 a.m. and am really exhausted after spending all day
at the hospital. My mother has her breast removed today from cancer
issues. She is 77. She got through surgery okay, recovery room was good
and finally got her into a room for the overnight stay. She was feeling
okay but then she sat up too quickly and her blood pressure dropped to
35! She was almost unconscious, sweating, nauseated - it scared me and
my dad so badly. We thought we were going to lose her but the nurse came
in and she did deep breathing and got the blood pressure slowly back in
an acceptable range. I'm so glad my mom is alive and breathing. She has
a month of physical recover to go through and who knows how long to
recover emotionally from losing a major body part. I dread it when she
looks in the mirror she is going to have a hard time emotionally.
